Ruth Allington

Civil | Commercial | Workplace | Neighbour | Community | Restorative Justice

Ruth discovered mediation in the mid 1990s in the course of her work as an engineering geologist expert witness in opencast coal related contractual disputes that had gone to Arbitration.  She became a qualified mediator in 1997 and practised as a civil, commercial and community mediator on a part time basis alongside her work as a consultant and expert witness in the minerals industry.

In 2015 and 2016, Ruth was introduced to the Dialogue Road Map through participating in training courses with Maria Arpa and David Ellis at the Centre for Peaceful Solutions, and then went on to participate in the year-long DRM Facilitator training programme in 2020.  The DRM has been transformative in Ruth’s mediation practice and also important in developing her facilitative and leadership skills in her consultancy and voluntary professional roles.

In January 2022, with Lorraine McAndrew, Ruth established Peaceful Solutions Dialogue & Mediation Ltd, which is an approved independent service of the Centre for Peaceful Solutions.
